CTC (Competent Tower Climber Program)
After climbers have had roughly six months climbing experience under supervision of "Qualified Climbers" they undergo
AISs' CTC Program or Competent Tower Climber Program. This course evaluates in written form their basic
understanding of Fall Protection, as well as a thorough evaluation of their ability to maneuver around the
extremely dangerous working conditions they are faced with in their day-to-day environments.
Upon successful completion of the evaluation climbers are given a certification which deems their ability
"Qualified".

Aerial Rescue & Tower Safety
Aerial Safety & Rescue Certifications held every 18 months and as needed for refresher and/or near-miss
incidents.
Intense 2 day course includes 1 full day of class room time
Day1:
Students develop a clear understanding of a need for formal Tower Safety, practice knot tying skills, view
and learn how to inspect different types of fall protection, how to properly don harnesses. Instruction in
use and maintenance of Fall Protection Systems.
All students certified must pass an examination to show understanding of the course objective before allowed
to climb on structures allowed to climb on structures.
Day2:
After written evaluation students are mobilized to field exercises to demonstrate maneuvering, climbing
skills, shown and practiced descents in every day fieldwork as well as rescue situations.
Students are required to perform two rescues, 1 as the Rescuer and one as the Fallen Victim.
Upon completion students receive a wallet card and full size certificate displayed in the Safety Dept.
Classes held year round, re-certifications every 18 months
